It hit me the other day that thereason I switched from contacts back to glasses so many times is because they were uncomfortable to me. But the truth is that contacts and glasses are both super uncomfortable. So I thought i would post about some tips to making contact lenses a bit more comfortable.
The first thing to consider is contact lense care. Cleaning your is a bit of a hassle to do it, but it’s very important to make it routine. If you buy a “Non Rub” slution it will make it a lot easier. Also, don’t get cheap solution or cleaner to save $2. It’s totally worth it to get a good brand since you’re putting these things in your eyes. Besides, a big bottle of solution is like $7 and lasts about a month, so you’re not breaking the bank. Plus it helps reduce risk of eye problems that are inherant to contact wearing.
Next, don’t clean your case with soap or water. It dries it ourt and can screw up your contacts. It’s better just to rinse it out with “no rub” solution.
And carry eyedrops with you just in case. In windy places it can get pretty bad and a little bottle of eyedrops makes all the difference.
Some people have a hard time with contacts around cigarettes. The best solution to that is don’t smoke. And don’t hang around people that smoke.
These tips should help out a lot, and make your experience with contacts a bit more pleasant.
Ciao!

In the past, contact lenses were simply another form of necessity, an aid to those with vision deficiencies. It was typically viewed as a replacement for the eyeglasses. Nowadays, not only are they a fashion statement, they are also accessories in their own right. In fact, there are even glow in the dark contacts now. Now, just in case you were wondering, no, they don’t necessarily have to be green. They are luminous too and their designs are anything but ordinary. In fact, they are akin to designer contact lenses. It is pretty interesting to note, though, that there are still many who have not heard of it yet.
If you take the time to browse through websites offering glowing contacts, you may be amazed at the variety of designs that they offer. There are those that mimic the eye designs of popular movie characters. There are those that are designed to cover the whole eye with an iris in the middle, bounded by colorful designs on the side. However, beautiful as they may be, it seems that they cannot be sold unless the customer has an active prescription. Of course, glowing contacts are non-prescription themselves but having an active prescription would also ensure that you are actually fit to wear contact lenses.
The question is what makes them glow? Supposedly, they work like any other glow in the dark material, they need to be charged under sunlight. However, direct exposure may not be recommended because of possible damage.

I reccomend that you choose one of the well known brands of contact lense solutions for you contact care. Your eyes are very delicate. You don’t want to risk the health of your eyes on a solution that hasn’t proven its self to to public yet. So you may pay $2 more every bottle, but it’s totally worth it. I also reccomend using a no-rub solution to make cleaning your contact lenses easier. You need to clean them every time you put them in and take them out, and it can be a hassle if you don’t use one of the no-rub sultions.

Glow in the dark contact lenses are really awesome. It’s a super cool and super easy way to freak out your freinds. The thing about glowing contacts is that they don’t glow in pitch black. They only glow in a black light or a uv light. But it’s ok because most of the clubs and night-spots have plenty of black lights.

Cosmetic contacts are contacts that change the way your eyes look. There are hundreds of different types. The most common ones are the ones that change your eye color, but you can also get really weird ones like animal eyes or even glowing contact lenses. I just recently learned about the contacts that glow in the dark and I haven’t tried them myself but they seem pretty awesome. ‘m gonna look into getting some to freak out a few of my friends.
You can get them from a few places online or pick some up at a novelty shop. they usually run you between $25 and $40 per pair, but it’s well worth it since you have so many options. And they go with anything. I will post later to let everyone know what I think of the glowing contacts. I’m not sure what brand I’ll try first.
Ciao!

Wearing contact lenses can be a delicate thing so it’s important to observe proper contact lense care, especially since this involves the eyes which are very sensitive. The fact that contact lenses have close contact with your eyes is another reason why you should take extra care of your contact lenses, aside of course from the fact that they are indispensable visual aids for many people.
There are actually many advice and tips on proper contact care. The first advice is to handle your contact lenses with clean hands. Most people pick up or handle their contact lenses with their bare hands so it’s important to observe what could possibly be a cardinal rule. Also, keep in mind that when you do wash your hands, make sure there are no other residues such as soap left on it which may be transferred to the contact lenses. Also, make sure that you clean your contact lenses with a sterile solution to prevent build up of proteins that could cause early deterioration of your lenses. Observe the proper manner of cleaning it. Another way to ensure proper contact care is to follow the prescription of your doctor as to when you should wear it. This doesn’t apply to non-prescription lenses, of course. And lastly, have them regularly replaced, according to schedule. Don’t overuse one pair. There are many more advices but you should consult your doctor on this one in order for you to gather more sound tips on taking care of your contact lenses.

Along with contact lenses has come the indispensable part of contact cleaner. Exactly why are contact cleaners so important and what is the role they play in the care of contact lenses?
There are a myriad of contact cleaners and if you are a contact lenses user, then you probably have already found this out for yourself. If you are lucky, you will also have had one recommended or given to you by your doctor or contact lenses provider when you got one. This option is probably the best one because, as some sources will tell you, not all products may be compatible with the contact lenses that you are using.
When cleaning contact lenses with a contact lenses cleaner, the recommended step is usually to place the lenses on the palm of your hands where there are a few drops of the solutions and to rub the lenses. After doing this step, make sure to rinse the lenses again to ensure that there are no loose debris or dirt stuck to the lenses. Then, there is usually a contact lenses holder that you can fill with the contact cleaner solution and where you can place your contact lenses for the night (wearing contacts while sleeping is not recommended!).
There are also special products that remove build up of proteins that accumulate especially on contact lenses that are designed for long-term use. The best step is still to ask from your doctor a recommended cleaner for your contact lenses to ensure safety and optimal cleaning effect.

I don’t think I’m the only visually challenged person that has asked the question, “Glasses or contacts?”. I’ve been wearing corrective lenses since first grade, and I have switched back and forth more times than I can count. Most people I’ve spoken to have quickly fiven up on contacts but still hate their glasses. Here is the secret wisdom of a guy who has tried it all… They both suck. So why not make the best of the situation? If you wear contacts, it opens a whole new world up to you like sprots, and having periphiral vision (good for driving). And while their are some pretty stylish frames out there, I cannot say I’ve met too many people that look better with glasses. I think this is due to the fact that we weren’t created to wear glasses. Plus with cosmetic contacts you can change the color of your eyes any time you want, or get really crazy contacts like cat eyes. I for one have made the conclusion that as long as you take good care of your contacts they are a much better option than glasses.

If you are using contact lenses, then you may well be familiar with what contact lense solutions are. They are used to aid in the cleaning of soft contact lenses and also to help prolong their life.
Contact solutions were also designed, most likely, to mimic the natural fluids found in the human body. This is because the eye needs lubrication and without it, wearers are at a danger of getting their eyes scratched or sustaining minor injuries should the contact lenses dry out. Just recently, a discovery was made that hyaluronic acid, which is supposedly found in the human body, can be obtained within contact lenses without compromising the optical quality of the lenses. It is also said to help prevent the accumulation of proteins that can lead to a clouding of the lenses. Of course, as withy any other findings, this may still be up for debate especially since it is a recent discovery.
While contact solutions are supposedly designed to help with wearers of contact lenses ensuring that the contacts are clean and hygienic to use, there has been – surprisingly – a study conducted to find out whether or not contact solutions were the culprit for dry eye among contact lense users. However, the study seems to have ruled it out as a cause of the dry eye and has, instead, attributed it to other factors such as users not having worn their contact lenses for some time or pre-existing eye problems.
